First Medica Announces Promotions & Additions

Russ Gaffney

Chief Operations Officer & Chief Information Officer joined First Medica in 1995 and has moved through the ranks of the daily operations from Distributor Sales, to Customer Service, Warehouse, Purchasing, Marketing, Computers, Network Administration and Web Development. Russ has over 24 years experience in manufacturing and distribution.

A native of Spartanburg, SC, Russ has a Masters Degree in Trumpet Performance and has backed up many artists including Percy Sledge, Dizzy Gillespie and others. He can also be heard on various recordings of other artists local to the Southeast. Other hobbies include free-lance web design and flying. Russ lives in Greensboro with his wife and 2 teenage children.

Eric Cornelison

VP of Sales & Marketing is a native of Jamestown, NC and brings over 10 years of Sales & Management experience to First Medica. Eric has proven himself in sales and has uncovered several new dealers as well as grown and strengthened many existing relationships. Eric been moving at lightning speed since joining First Medica in the fall of 2010.

Eric still lives in Jamestown and has many local connections to our industry. Eric and his wife have one child, with another on the way. Eric's interests outside of work include coaching and playing different sports, not the least of which is golf.

Ron Crouch

National Sales Manager has been a business owner and sales professional for over 40 years and brings insight, energy and determination that compliments all other First Medica employees. Not only is his business experience extensive but being a North Carolina native has a very large network of friends and business associates that relate to our industry.

Ron lives in Greensboro with his wife and two children and is active in his church and also enjoys singing and acting in dramatic theater. He is an avid golfer and Director of Chapter Development for the Phi Sigma Kappa National Fraternity.

In response to valuable customer feedback, First Medica began a total redesign process on the exterior packaging of the Medflex™ Premium glove line.

First Medica launched their latest LED powered light, The Ultra Blast in June 2011. The Ultra Blast shares many of the same characteristics of the Blast Lite and Mini Blast but comes standard with an 11mm tip. This tip increases the curing area by 89%. First Medica, a rapidly growing privately held manufacturer of small dental equipment and supplier of disposables to the dental market, announced the departure of CEO and Co-Owner Scott Haralson, effective April 15, 2011. Mr. Haralson joined First Medica in June of 2008 and since then the First Medica team has reversed a negative revenue trend into two years of double digit compounded growth an on track to grow over 40% for 2011. Mr. Haralson contributed greatly to the growth of First Medica and now wished to devote more time to alternate business ventures. Mr. Haralson has sold his ownership to David Small who is now sole owner of First Medica. The Team wished Mr. Haralson best of luck in his future endeavors and continued successes.
